This is one of the best cake ideas I've ever seen. This was not my idea, it was done by two very crafty friends of mine. It was so incredible that I had to share it. Please notice that you can actually "play" with this cake!!!! GENIUS!

Wall Decor
We are renters so the things we do to our home must be temporary.White walls can make a space look drab and boring esp. an office. So I decided to try something new. I saw this TV show where they used fabric to cover walls by only using starch. They made the process look so easy so I decided to try it! I went out and bought the necessary items for this project 1. Fabric 2. Starch (about 2 big spray bottles). That's it! Below are step by step pictures and some tips.
Room before.
The Fancy fabric I used
Step 1. Spray Starch on your wall and place fabric over starched wall. Not as easy as it looks, use tacks on the top to keep the fabric in place, if you don't, you run the risk of putting your fist through your lovely wall. Take my word for it. Also make sure to spray starch on the fabric once its on the wall... makes it adhere so much more.
I made a bad move buying this fabric since you have to line up the design at the seam. It took a terribly long time to do this!
Once all the fabric is applied, let it dry. When dry cut away extra fabric with an X-acto knife.
TIPS: As you can tell when I measured the walls and the fabric I was supposed to have 5 inches of space on the left and right border (first picture shows that i started 5 inches in) What I didn't account for was how much the fabric stretches out with starch. The fabric stretched out an extra 10 inches! so I had quite a bit left over (oh well)
The room after. As you can see the fabric puckered and the seams moved, but I love it. Makes the room feel so warm and cozy. I'm sure if you can avoid this problem by choosing a fabric that is either a solid color or by choosing a fabric that has a larger design.

another shot.
After the starch has dried it makes the fabric feel somewhat like a pinata. To remove, get a spray bottle and fill it with water and fabric softener... soak the fabric until it starts to peel off and gently remove fabric. You can wash your fabric and use it again for another project : )
